Kelly Moran, born February 17, 1988 in Port Washington, New York, is an American composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for her work as a keyboard player. She began taking piano lessons at age six and later learned to play several other instruments. Moran's early experiments with electronic music software led to her degree in Performing Arts Technology from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Her first album, Optimist, was self-released in 2016. In 2017, Kelly Moran released Bloodroot on Telegraph Harp, which combined her classical piano training with electronic production techniques and prepared piano. The album received critical acclaim, being named one of "The 25 Best Classical Music Recordings of 2017" by The New York Times and included in Rolling Stone's list of the best avant albums of 2017. Kelly Moran signed with Warp Records in September 2018 to release Ultraviolet, along with Origin EP which followed shortly after in 2019. The delicate, classical-based Moves in the Field was released in 2024, where Moran programmed a piano-like instrument for desired results. Don't Trust Mirrors was released in October 1 of 2025.
