Kayla Shyx, real name Kaya Loska, was born in Berlin on March 5, 2002. She began piano lessons as a child and sang in the Friedrichstadt-Palast's junior ensemble. At the age of 14, she started a social media channel and became known to a wider audience through her participation in the KiKA series "Die Mädchen-WG" (2016). This is followed by roles in web series such as "Krass Klassenfahrt" and appearances in short films. In 2023, she gained viral attention with her video "Was wirklich bei Rammstein Afterpartys passiert", in which she describes personal experiences and addresses allegations of abuse. This video won the 2023 Pop Culture Award in the "Most Moving Story" category. Kayla Shyx makes her musical debut in September 2024 with the single "Sad Girl Summer", followed by "Lieb dich eigentlich :(" in November of the same year. On May 9, 2025, her first album Sad Girl Summer is released by Jive Germany/Sony Music. Her music is in the realm of melancholic indie pop and dream pop, with influences from artists such as Lana Del Rey. The album is produced by Dokii, TRUVA and Evan Klar, among others.
