Biography

The Körnerscher Sing-Verein Dresden, a German choir based in Dresden, was founded by Peter Kopp in 1993 as Neuer Körnerscher Singverein. The ensemble initially consisted of graduates from the Hochschule für Musik Dresden and former members of the Dresdner Kreuzchor. In 2008, the group rebranded to its current name, Vocal Concert Dresden. The choir has performed a wide range of classical music, from Baroque to contemporary pieces, often collaborating with orchestras and instrumental ensembles. The ensemble has also released albums such as Lob, Ehr und Preis sei Gott (2013) and Christmas at San Marco (2010). Vocal Concert Dresden has performed at prestigious festivals including the Bachfest Leipzig and the Händel-Festspiele Göttingen, as well as in various European countries and the USA.
