Karmah was founded in Italy in 1997. The band is a duo consisting of singer Elisa Bava and rapper July B (real name Juliano Bozzano). Karmah is a well-known representative of the pop and dance genre and attracts attention in several European countries with its modern mix of R&B, pop and dance elements. The duo started with the single "Just Be Good to Me" (2005), a dance version of the SOS Band classic, combined with the bassline from "Every Breath You Take" by The Police; this track became their breakthrough and established them throughout Europe, with club and radio plays across the continent. The single "Tom's Diner" (a reinterpretation of the Suzanne Vega song) followed in 2006, further consolidating the band's genre spectrum and dance-pop profile. The album Be Good to Me is released in the same year. Karmah's musical style moves between pop, dance, R&B and commercial club sound. Their productions combine catchy hooks and melodic vocal lines with beats that are designed for both radio and dance floors. This allows them to reach a wide audience - from fans of chart-ready pop music to club and dance fans.
