Karen Tweed, born in 1963 in Willesden, London, England, is a British musician and piano accordionist. She began playing the piano accordion at age 11, studying under John Whelan, and won her first of five All-Ireland championships in 1977. In 1989, she pursued her professional music career. She worked with notable bands such as The Poozies and The Kathryn Tickell Band. She performed globally, including concerts in Hong Kong, New Zealand, and the United States. Her album releases included May Monday (2001) with Timo Alakotila, One Roof Under (2002) with Andy Cutting, and Essentially Invisible to the Eye (2012). She became recognized for her work as an arranger, composer, and piano accordion tutor, serving at Folkworks youth courses and the World Music Centre at the University of Limerick.
