Kate Miller-Heidke, born on November 16, 1981, in Gladstone, Queensland, Australia, is a singer known for her work in alternative pop. She graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music with a degree in Classical Music and later earned a master's degree in music from the Queensland University of Technology. Miller-Heidke began her musical journey by performing in various bands around Brisbane before transitioning to a solo career in 2003. Her early works include the EPs Telegram (2004) and Comikaze (2005), which she released independently. Miller-Heidke's breakthrough came with her debut album, Little Eve, released in May, 2007, under Sony Australia. The album was certified gold in Australia. Her subsequent albums include Curiouser (2008) and O Vertigo! (2014). Miller-Heidke represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with "Zero Gravity", which was released as a single in January that year. She has also collaborated with notable artists such as Deborah Conway and performed in various operas, including Jerry Springer: The Opera and The Death of Klinghoffer. Miller-Heidke's achievements include winning the International Songwriting Competition 2008 for "Caught in the Crowd" and receiving the Helpmann Award for Best Performance in a Contemporary Australian Concert.
