The Nigerian electronic music artist known as Kah-Lo was born Faridah Seriki in Lagos in 1992. After relocating to New York in 2009 to pursue a college degree, she officially launched her music career through a series of collaborations with English DJ Riton, namely the single âRinse & Repeatâ (2016), which bowed at Number 2 on the UK Dance Chart and received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. The track was included in the duoâs first collaborative album, Foreign Ororo (2018), which also contained the singles âFasta,â âBetta Riddim,â âFake ID,â âGinger,â and âMoneyâ with Mr. Eazi and Davido. Following a series of cameos on Diplo and Blond:ishâs âGive Demâ (2019), The Knocksâ âAwa Niâ (2019), and Michael Brunâs âMelaninâ (2020), Kah-Lo released her solo debut EP The Arrival in 2021. âFire,â one of the singles from the EP, cracked the Top 40 of the Dance/Mix Show Airplay, placing at Number 36.
