Julien Beaudiment, originally from La Rochelle and Bordeaux, crossed the Channel at the age of 18 to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, before entering the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he won his first prizes. First principal flute with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, then with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel, he went on to become principal flute with the Orchestre de l'Opéra National de Lyon and teaches at the CNSM de Lyon. Beaudiment performs in the greatest concert halls (Walt Disney Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Suntory Hall) with prestigious orchestras (London Symphony, Orchestre de Paris) and conductors (Salonen, Eschenbach, Petrenko). An avid chamber music player and sought-after pedagogue, he teaches throughout the world and is involved in humanitarian actions via "Music Beyond" and the "Fondation du Rein".
