Biography

Joyce âFenderellaâ Irby, born on Julyâ¯16,â¯1956 in Orlando, Florida, is an American singer, songwriter, bass guitarist and producer. She performed on loading ramps in the South, attracting George Clinton. She joined the allâfemale group Klymaxx, contributing as a lead vocalist on hits such as "I Miss You" and "The Men All Pause". In 1989 she signed with Motown, releasing "Mr. DJ", which charted at numberâ¯2 on Billboard, followed by the solo album Maximum Thrust. Irby founded Diva One Productions, signing Dallas Austin, Sammie, and Lloyd, and earned an ASCAP award in 2012 for coâwriting"Another Round" by Fat Joe, Chris Brown and Mary J. Blige.
