Biography
Jory Vinikour, born Jory on May 12, 1963 in Chicago, is an American harpsichordist. He studied under Huguette Dreyfus and Kenneth Gilbert in Paris since 1990. Vinikour's career includes notable solo appearances at venues such as Carnegie (Weill) Recital Hall. His repertoire spans from Bach to Michael Nyman, including modern harpsichord concertos like Frank Martinâs Petite Symphonie Concertante. He has collaborated with artists like Anne Sofie von Otter and Jakob Lindberg. Vinikour has also conducted orchestras including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. His recordings include Bach's Goldberg Variations (2000) and Jean-Philippe Rameauâs Complete Harpsichord Works (2012), which was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Classical Instrumental Solo recording.
