Biography

Ólöf Q106195385, born 4 January 1980 in Reykjavík, Iceland, is an Icelandic folk singer‑songwriter who began her musical education in violin and classical singing between 1988 and 2002 and later studied composition and new media at the Iceland Academy of the Arts. After touring with múm from 2003, she released her debut album Við Og Við in 2007 on 12 Tónar; the record earned critical acclaim in the United States and led to tours with Björk, Blonde Redhead, and others. Her second album Innundir skinni followed in 2010 on One Little Independent Records, featuring the single "Surrender" with Björk, and her third album Sudden Elevation arrived in 2013, sung entirely in English and produced by Skúli Sverrisson. Subsequent releases include Palme (2014) and Spíra (2025).
