Jimmy & The Boys was an Australian shock rock and new wave band, formed in 1976 by Ignatius Jones on lead vocals and Joylene Thornbird Hairmouth on keyboards. They pioneered shock theatrics in Australia, with their act featuring Jones's contortionist skills and Hairmouth's transvestite persona. Their debut single, "I'm Not Like Everybody Else", was released in 1979, followed by their first studio album, Not Like Everybody Else!, in 1979. In 1981, they achieved their only Australian top 10 single with "They Won't Let My Girlfriend Talk to Me", written by Tim Finn of Split Enz. Their second studio album, Teddy Boys Picnic, was released in 1981. The band disbanded briefly in January 1982 but reformed for a national tour, resulting in the live album In Hell with Your Mother!, later that year.
