Biography
Jeff Foxworthy is the best-selling stand-up comedian in American history, with multiple Grammy nominations and more than a dozen Top 40 albums under his belt. Born on September 6, 1958, in Atlanta, Georgia, he spent his early adulthood developing a uniquely southern sense of humor inspired by his time in the Bible Belt. His debut album, You Might be a Redneck Ifâ¦, was released in 1993 and became a crossover smash, peaking at Number 1 on Billboard's Top Comedy Albums chart chart, Number 3 on the Top Country Albums chart, and Number 38 on the Billboard 200. Both You Might Be a Redneck If⦠and its 1995 follow-up, Games Rednecks Play, went triple-platinum, giving Foxworthy two of the best-selling comedy albums of all time. Already popular in the country market, he starred in Alan Jackson's music video for "I Don't Even Know Your Name" and duetted with the country star on "Redneck Games," a popular single that appeared on 1996's Crank It Up: The Music Album. Another track from the same record, "Redneck 12 Days of Christmas," became a recurring hit throughout the rest of the 1990s, cracking the Top 40 for five consecutive holiday seasons and peaking at Number 18 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Foxworthy's success continued well into the 21st century. A five-time host of the CMT Music Awards, he maintained a regular presence on the country charts, with Big Funny climbing to Number 15 in 2000 and Have Your Loved Ones Spayed or Neutered peaking at Number 7 in 2004. He also collaborated frequently with other comedians. Released in 2012, Them Idiots Whirled Tour found him cracking jokes alongside Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. Years later, Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy teamed up once again for 2017's We've Been Thinking.
