Jeckyll & Hyde was a Dutch electronic music duo originally comprising DJ Maarten Vorwerk and producer Ruud van IJperen, with DJ Red and two jumpstyle dancers supporting live performances. Their first releases appeared in 2005, with the singles "Kick This One" and "Precious Dreamer", establishing a foothold in the local club scene. In 2006 the track "Frozen Flame" entered the Dutch Top 40, reaching a peak of Number 11 and becoming the first instrumental to hit Number one in the Netherlands since 1995. The following year the duo released the single "Freefall", which entered the charts at Number 11 and climbed to Number one in its second week, marking a significant milestone for Dutch electronic music. Their debut album, The Album, was issued in 2007, followed by the EP Time Flies the same year, both released on their independent label Square Beats. Collaborations included a 2007 partnership with Belgian act Milk Inc., producing "Sunrise", which charted at Number 11 in the Netherlands. Jeckyll & Hyde received two TMF Award nominations in 2007, winning the TMF Radio Hit Award. After producer Ruud van IJperen departed, DJ Maarten Vorwerk continued the project solo, but new releases and touring diminished, and the duo has not produced new material since the late 2000s.
