Biography

Jean-Patrice Bernard Simon Brosse was born on June 23, 1950, in Le Mans, France. He trained at conservatories in Le Mans and Paris, as well as other institutions. At age 23, after a chamber music tour in the US and South America, he became an organist and harpsichordist for ensembles like Ars Antiqua and Orchestre de chambre de Paris. Brosse collaborated with musicians such as Henryk Szeryng and Jean-Pierre Rampal, and accompanied singers including Gundula Janowitz and Cecilia Bartoli. His discography includes albums like Messe de Bordeaux (with the Vox Cantoris choir) in 2007 and Bach : Toccatas, Fantaisies, Préludes and Fugues in 2008. He founded the Concerto Rococo ensemble, dedicated to 18th-century harpsichord repertoire. Brosse performed at major festivals worldwide and was awarded several Grand Prix record awards. He died on September 22, 2021, at the age of 71.
