JeanâChristophe Keck, born 1964 in Briançon, France, is a musicologist, conductor and radio producer focused on Jacquesâ¯Offenbach. He began as a tuba player in the Briançon town band, studied at the école de musique de Briançon, the Conservatoire de Marseille, and the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris, training in conducting, musicology, composition, and vocal studies. Jean-Christophe Keckâs breakthrough was his specialization in Offenbach, leading to the Offenbach Edition Keck, published by Boosey & Hawkes; editions of Laâ¯Périchole, Laâ¯GrandeâDuchesse de Gérolstein, Laâ¯Vie parisienne and Lesâ¯Brigands were performed successfully, and Orphée aux enfers received critical acclaim. He has directed the Orchestre des Concerts Pasdeloupâs Offenbach concerts since 2004, conducted Baâtaâclan and Mesdames de la Halle for the Academy of Music Hannsâ¯Eisler Berlin in 2012.
