Jean Sourisse, born in 1940 in Rabat, Morocco, is a French choral conductor. Initially trained as an organist, he later focused on vocal pedagogy and choir direction under mentors such as Philippe Caillard, César Geoffray, Michel Corboz, Eric Ericson, and Frieder Bernius. Sourisse's career began with the founding of the ensemble vocal Audite Nova, which won nine international prizes, including a special jury prize at Arezzo. He subsequently directed the ChÅur de lâOrchestre Colonne from 1981 to 1988 and founded the Ensemble Vocal Jean Sourisse and the ChÅur d'Oratorio de Paris in 1989. His ensembles received numerous accolades, such as the mention dâexcellence at the 34th Rencontres Chorales Internationales de Montreux in 1998.
