La Chicana, a tango band from Argentina, was formed in Buenos Aires in 1995 by Dolores Solá, Acho Estol, and Juan Valverde. The group quickly gained traction with their unique blend of traditional tango rhythms and modern musical influences, including rock elements. Their debut album, Ayer hoy era mañana, was released in 1997. In 2003, La Chicana received significant recognition with the release of Tango agazapado, which earned them the Premio Carlos Gardel in the category Tango Nuevas Formas in 2004. The band continued to release albums, including Canción llorada (2005), Lejos (2006), and Hikikomori (2020).
