Hilary John Davan Wetton, born on December 23, 1943, is a British conductor. He began his career as Director of Music at various schools including St Albans School and Cranleigh School. His breakthrough moment came when he founded the Holst Singers, with whom he made several acclaimed recordings. Notable albums include Vaughan Williams: Five Tudor Portraits - Five Mystical Songs (1988), Holst: the Planets (1989) and Flowers of the Field (2014). He has been Musical Director of the City of London Choir and Alina Orchestra, Associate Conductor of the London Mozart Players. Wetton has also been awarded honorary degrees by the Open University (MA) and de Montfort University (DMus).
