Hideki Kaji (加地 秀基), born 8 May 1967 in Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, is a Japanese singer who began his musical journey with the rock band Bridge in 1989, a group inspired by Flipper's Guitar. After Bridge disbanded, Hideki Kaji launched his solo career in 1996 with the EP Muscat E.P., followed by the single "Here Is Our Street!!" and the EP "La Boum ~My Boom Is Me~" in early 1997. He steadily released a series of albums, including Mini Skirt (1997), Tea (1998), The Fireworks Candy & Puppydog Store (1999), You Will Love Me (2000), From Cafe Scandinavia With Love For Cafe Apres‑Midi (2001), A Long Week‑End (2002), Enjoy The Game (2003), Löv Songs (2004), New Pretty (2006), Towns And Streets (2007), Lollipop (2008), Hideki Spaghetti (2008), Strawberries And Cream (2009), Teens Film (2010), Blue Heart (2012), Sweet Swedish Winter (2013), and The Blue Boy (2016). His single "Mr Sweden" (1999) and "Blue Boys Don´t Cry" (2009) received notable airplay. Hideki Kaji collaborated with Swedish musicians such as Helena Josefsson and Jens Jansson, recording at Tambourine Studios in Malmö, and contributed to television commercials and other artists’ projects. His sustained output over two decades marks him as a consistent presence in the J‑pop and pop‑rock scenes.
