Biography

Hassan Shamaizadeh, born on November 22, 1943, in Isfahan, Iran, was an Iranian instrumentalist, singer, and composer. He started his musical career at age 13 as an instrumentalist in a theater orchestra. In the late 1960s, he joined Radio Iran and performed with various jazz and pop orchestras. Shamaizadeh began composing in 1972 due to health issues. His early compositions included "Geryeh" and "Hala Kheili Direh". Throughout the 1970s, he composed for prominent artists like Googoosh and Dariush, achieving significant success with songs such as "Shekar", which won first place at the 1975 Istanbul Music Festival. Shamaizadeh's singing career began in 1973 with a live performance of "Mordab" on television. Following the 1979 Iranian Revolution, he immigrated to the United States and continued his prolific career, releasing numerous albums, including Mordab (1991) and Khodahafez (1991).
