Guy Forsyth, born November 30, 1968 in Denver, Colorado, is an American blues rock singer and songwriter. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and began playing harmonica at 16, influenced by the work of Robert Johnson to learn guitar. In January 1990, Guy Forsyth moved to Austin, Texas, where his live performances gained local recognition. He also co-founded the Asylum Street Spankers. His debut album as Guy Forsyth Band, Needle Gun, was released by Lone Star Music in 1995. In 2005, Guy Forsyth won an Austin Music Award for Best Male Vocalist and released Love Songs: For & Against. He continued to tour extensively, performing at festivals such as the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Notable albums include Unrepentant Schizophrenic Americana (2007), and Calico Girl (2008).
