Guy Bovet, born on May 22, 1942, in Thun, Switzerland, is a Swiss organist and composer. He studied piano with Jeanne Bovet in Berne and organ with Marie Dufour in Lausanne, Pierre Segond in Geneva, and Marie-Claire Alain in Paris. Bovet served as the titular organist of the Collégiale de Neuchâtel from 1988 to 2009 and taught at the Musikakademie Basel. He advocated for historical organs, collaborating with UNESCO and Pro Helvetia on projects in Mexico and Brazil. Bovet's repertoire spanned all musical periods and styles, and he performed numerous concerts annually worldwide. Notable works include "Tangos ecclesiasticos" and collaborations with various directors on music for the stage. He received a doctorate honoris causa from the University of Neuchâtel and acted as the editor-in-chief of La Tribune de l'orgue, authoring over 2000 articles on organ-related topics. Other notable compositions include the Premier livre d'orgue (1959) and the concerto Mouvement symphonique (1962).
