Ganvest, a Russian rap romantic, was born in Kazakhstan in 1992. His real name is Ruslan Gominov. He started writing music in 2008, experimenting with rock and reggae but later deleted all his early tracks and changed his style significantly. In 2018, Gominov posted the track «Звездопад» (‘Starfall’) on his social media page, and became popular within months. Inspired by his first success, Gominov – already Ganvest – released another two songs – «Дурман» (‘Datura’) and «Никотин» (‘Nikotine’) – that made it to the top of the charts. The mini album Адьёс (Adios) came out in 2018 and included 4 dance tracks. Another mini-album entitled Заразила (Infected) followed in the same year, it consisted of 5 tracks, «Алкоголь» (‘Alcohol’), «Гэнгщит» ("Gangshit"), "Show Me Love" among them. In 2019, Ganwest began his collaborations with some other Russian artists. He recorded the track «Голые ладони» (‘Naked Palms’, 2019) with DzheeGun, a summer song «Ананасовый сироп» (‘Pineapple Syrup’, 2020) with Natan, «Гоба» (‘Goba’, 2021) with Instasamka, and «Я на связи» (‘I’m in Touch’, 2021) with Bodiev. In his songs, Gunwest expresses very intimate and romantic personal experiences through somewhat rough but sincere music form at the intersection of pop, and Russian rap.
