Graham Fitkin, born April 19, 1963 in Crows-an-Wra, West Cornwall, is a British composer and pianist. He began composing around age eight and studied at the University of Nottingham and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Louis Andriessen. Early compositions included From Yellow to Yellow and The Cone Gatherers. The success of his early compositions led to commissions, including his first ensemble work, "Cud", for jazz orchestra and "Circuit" for two pianos and orchestra, commissioned by the BBC in 2002, and PK, premiered at the Proms in 2010. He has collaborated with artists such as Kathryn Stott and Yo-Yo Ma. Awards include the International Grand Prix Music for Dance Video Award in 1994, and British Composer Awards in 2009 and 2011 for "Reel" and "PK", respectively.
