Biography
Graham Ashton is a British-born naturalized American trumpeter and brass composer. He began his musical journey by forming the Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble in London in 1989. The ensemble later reformed with virtuoso brass players from New York City. Ashton's career includes notable compositions such as "Birdsong", "Fantasia Upon a Ground after Purcell" and "Fantasy on Catherine's Song". He has also sought new compositions for trumpet from other composers. In addition to his performing career, Graham Ashton is Professor of Trumpet and Chair of Brass at Purchase College, State University of New York since 1999. His discography includes albums such as Scenes of Spirits released via Signum Records.
