Born in Rome on January 19th, 1991, Italian rapper Tiziano Menghi dabbled in hip-hop in his youth, eventually adopting the moniker Gianni Bismark as an homage to one of his non-musical idols, Uruguayan footballer Gianni Guigou. Cementing his reputation within the capitalâs burgeoning trap scene following the 2015 release of his eponymous debut mixtape, he grew his fanbase with a string of high-profile collaborations alongside the likes of Dark Polo Gang, Tony Effe and Trage, finding his feet as one of the areaâs most prolific recording artists. Adopting a DIY ethos and entrepreneurial mindset, Menghi self-released his debut album, Sesto senso (English: Sixth sense), in 2016, and his hard work paid dividends; by 2018, he had signed to Dark Polo Gangâs Universal-distributed imprint, Triplosette Entertainment, as a result of the success of a string of well-received breakthrough singles including âCi vedo lungoâ and âSerie Bâ. Menghiâs second LP, Re senza corona (King Without a Crown), arrived the following year. With the labelâs publicity boosting his profile considerably, the album reached #17 in the national charts, racking up tens of millions of streams and spawning several hits in âGianni Bâ, âPregiudicatiâ (featuring Izi) and âUniversità â (featuring Crew126 member Franco126). With his brand growing exponentially in the following months, Menghi returned to the studio to begin work on a follow-up; by March 2020, his third album, Nati diversi, had emerged. Entering the Italian charts at #6 and later climbing to #3, the LP marked a new career high for the rising rapper, who celebrated its success with the release of a deluxe edition on Christmas Day 2020.
