Biography

Gero (Japanese for 'vomit') is a singer-songwriter and radio personality best known for his contributions to several anime series. Born on January 23, 1986, in the Hyōgo Prefecture, he began posting videos of himself singing to the video-sharing website Niconico in 2008 and gradually built a loyal online following. In 2011, Gero embarked on a sold-out national tour and independently released his studio debut, Gourmet. After signing with Geneon Universal Entertainment, he made his major-label debut with the single "Beloved×Survival" (2013), which was featured extensively in the anime Brothers Conflict. The track was the first in a series of multiple tie-ins with the anime industry, including "~Outgrow~" (2014), used as the theme song to Tokyo Ravens, and "CHAN-BA-LA Justice Densetsu" (2014), the ending theme of Eagle Talon EX (Extreme). One, his first major-label album, appeared in 2013 and was followed by Second (2014), Zero (2015), Road (2016), Egoist (2017), and Tokyo Haze (2020). Parade, his ninth album overall, saw the light in 2022 and peaked at Number 8 on the Billboard Japan Albums Chart.
