Real name Yoan Makangou, French rapper of Congolese origin Genezio was born in Le Chesnay, Yvelines, on June 2, 2003. He grew up in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val-de-Marne) and several other departments in the Ãle-de-France region, before setting up the group La Gé with two friends, signed to Lossa Records. In 2021, Genezio embarked on a solo career, making a name for himself with a series of freestyles entitled Vibestars. Inspired by Congolese rumba, he developed a melodic style that he put to good use on the Vibestars: Pré-Saison EP (2022), followed in 2023 by two mixtapes, Vibestars: Saison 1 and Vibestars: Saison 2, which reached No. 35 on the SNEP chart and included collaborations with Dadju, Landy, Gambino La MG, Naza and Guy2Bezbar. In 2024, Genezio established himself as a representative of the bounce style in France with the EPs Bounce: Saison 1 and Bounce: Saison 2, featuring MHD, Ronisia, Tiakola and La Mano 1.9. Two more EPs followed in 2025, Gé Leak featuring La Mano 1.9, Leto and Zed, and Bounce : Saison 3, with a collaboration from Kalash. The same year, Genezio released his debut album Les Dents du Bonheur, charting at No. 28 and featuring guest appearances by Gims ("Ratata"), Niska ("OG"), Himra ("Bounce Africa") and Nej ("M'en aller").
