Generación 12 is a Colombian Christian music group founded in 2007 in Bogotá, Colombia, operating as the worship ministry of Iglesia Misión Carismática Internacional. The ensemble, comprising vocalists Lorena Castellanos, Johan Manjarrez, Sofia Mancipe, Fernando Ramos, and Estefania Espinosa, alongside instrumentalists such as Anthony Catacoli on piano and producer, Isaà Cella on piano, and a rotating rhythm section, began by recording early releases such as Nueva nación (2007) and El mundo cambiará (2009). Their breakthrough came with the 2012 single "Es por Fe", which introduced their contemporary Christian pop sound to a wider audience. Chronologically, the group released Despierta mi Corazón (2012â05â15), Somos Uno (2013â08â23), Mientras Viva (2014â01â28), Tu Nos Salvarás (2015â01â19), and Tu Reino Está Aquà (2022â10â21), the latter earning them a Dove Award in 2023. Throughout their career, Generación 12 collaborated with artists such as Christine D'Clario, Miel San Marcos, Redimi2, Marcos Brunet, Fernandinho, Marco Barrientos, Marcela Gándara, Evan Craft, Grupo Barak, and DJ PV, and performed on tours across Latin America. Their discography, marked by consistent releases and chart presence, reflects a sustained influence within Colombian contemporary Christian music, culminating in recognition at the Premios Arpa and GMA Dove awards.
