Biography
Pedro Florindo Sassone, born January 12, 1912, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a violinist, composer, musician and orchestra conductor. He debuted professionally in the mid-1930s with Antonio Polito's ensemble at Radio Belgrano before joining Roberto Firpo's orchestra. In 1936, Sassone formed his own orchestra, debuting at Radio Belgrano. His career advanced significantly in the late 1940s when he began recording for RCA VÃctor, collaborating with vocalists such as Jorge Casal and Roberto Chanel. Sassone moved to Odeon Records in 1959, where his instrumental recordings became more prominent. He toured extensively throughout the 1960s and 1970s, performing in Japan, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, and Paraguay. Notable compositions include "El relámpago" (1966) and "Baldosa floja", with lyrics by Dante Gilardoni. Sassone passed away on January 31, 1982, in Buenos Aires.
