Biography
Frank Larry Solivan, born on March 7, 1977, near Modesto, California, is an American mandolinist and recording artist. He formed his first band, Generation Gap, in the late 1980s. In 2002, he recorded his debut solo album I Am a Rambler. Solivan joined the U.S. Navy's service band Country Current in 2003, where he played electric guitar, mandolin, and fiddle for six years. After leaving the Navy, Solivan formed Dirty Kitchen, releasing four studio albums with the band: Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, On the Edge, Cold Spell, and If You Can't Stand the Heat. In 2016, he released his third solo project Family, Friends & Heroes, featuring notable musicians. Frank Larry Solivan & Dirty Kitchen were nominated for Grammy Awards in 2014 and 2019, and won Instrumental Group of the Year at the IBMA Awards in 2014 and 2016.
