Biography

The German band Fools Garden (formerly Fool's Garden) hails from Pforzheim and was founded in 1991 by singer Peter Freudenthaler and guitarist Volker Hinkel in Möttlingen. Other band members joined a short time later and together Fools Garden released their debut album Once in a Blue Moon in 1993. The group's musical breakthrough came in 1995 with the album Dish of the Day and in particular the single "Lemon Tree". The successful album reached the top of the charts in Germany and came 4th in Austria and 3rd in Switzerland. "Lemon Tree" was a number one hit in Austria and Germany. Fools Garden were awarded the Echo, the Golden Tuning Fork, the Bambi and the Golden Europe for their success. in 1997, the second album Go and Ask Peggy for the Principal Thing was released, which reached number 44 in the German charts and number 50 in the Austrian charts. After the release of the album 25 Miles to Kissimmee, the new band members left Fools Garden and Peter Freudenthaler and Volker Hinkel continued with three new members. Over the course of their career, the group performed in Russia, China and Lithuania and, in addition to regular concerts, also gave open-air concerts, such as during the 2013 Deutschlandfest at the Brandenburg Gate. The album Captain... Coast Is Clear with the song "Electrify" was released at the end of 2021.
