Firtan, a German pagan black metal band from Lörrach in Baden-Württemberg, was formed in 2010 by Phillip Thienger, Martin "Troll" Lindner, and Neves Sänger. The group began performing live in 2011 and released their first EP Wogen der Trauer in January 2013. Their debut album Niedergang followed in May 2014, marking a shift towards black metal. Subsequent releases include the EPs Innenwelt (May 2016) and Faðir (September 2022), as well as the albums Okeanos (July 2018) and Marter (October 2022). Their fourth studio album, Ethos, was released in September 2024. Notable songs include "Seegang" (May 2018), "Tag Verweil" (June 2018), "Amor Fati" (July 2022), and "Labsal" (August 2022). In autumn 2024, Firtan toured Europe with Finsterforst, Countless Skies, and Sojourner in support of Bucovina.
