Biography

Fernando Lozano Rodríguez, born on April 2, 1940, in Mexico City, is a Mexican musician, arranger, and conductor. He studied at the National Conservatory of Music and later with Nadia Boulanger in France. Lozano's career began in 1961, directing operas and leading major symphonic orchestras in Mexico. In 1978, he founded the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico City, which he directed until 1982. From 2007 to 2012, he served as the director of the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra. Lozano's discography included over 150 titles and he has also received several awards, including the Georges Auric prize from the French Record Academy in 1981 and the Mozart Medal in 1994.
