Biography

Felix Friedrich was born in 1945 in Hochweitzschen, Germany. He studied church music and organ in Dresden and Weimar. In the early 1970s, he moved to Altenburg, where he initiated the restoration of the Schlosskirche's damaged organ from 1739 by Tobias Heinrich Gottfried Trost. Friedrich became the Schlossorganist in 1976 and held this position until 2021. His extensive concert career has taken him across Europe, the former USSR, and the USA, performing at notable events such as the Salzburg Festival and the International Congress of Organists in Cambridge. He has recorded over 80 CDs, including a complete recording of Johann Ludwig Krebs' organ compositions on Querstand. In 1987, he earned his doctorate from Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg.
