Ex Hex is an American rock band formed in 2013, consisting of Mary Timony, Betsy Wright, and Laura Harris. The group recorded their debut single "Hot and Cold" in Timony's basement before releasing their album, Rips, in 2014, via Merge Records. Produced by Mitch Easter and Jonah Takagi, Rips marked a significant breakthrough for the band. Ex Hex toured extensively, performing with notable acts such as Speedy Ortiz, King Tuff, Rocket from the Crypt, and The Jacuzzi Boys. They also performed at the Coachella Festival in 2016. In 2019, Ex Hex released their second album, It's Real.
