Biography

Eric Malmberg is a Swedish organist and cartoonist. He is the keyboardist for the instrumental duo Sagor & Swing, known for compositions based on drums and the Hammond organ. Malmberg released his debut solo album, Sju små sagomelodier och en låt som mest är som ett ljud, in 2000, followed by En skattkista längst nere på botten av ett stort hav in 2002. In 2005, he released the concept album Den gåtfulla människan, recorded exclusively using a Hammond organ to explore the human psyche. These themes were influenced by Malmberg's personal experience with autistic spectrum disorder, a subject he addressed in the documentary Creative illness. In 2007, he released his fourth solo album, Verklighet & beat, which marked a return to his jazz roots with contributions from Bo Hansson and Goran Kajfes. Malmberg is regarded as the spiritual successor to Hansson, whose organ he inherited.
