Eric Hoeprich, a Dutch clarinetist born in Baltimore on September 5, 1955, specialized in interpreting ancient clarinets and repertoire from the 18th and 19th centuries. He graduated from Harvard University in 1976 and earned his Master's degree at the Conservatory of The Hague in 1982. Hoeprich began his career as a founding member and first clarinet soloist of the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century with Frans Brüggen. In the 1980s, he established chamber music ensembles Nachtmusique and Trio Stadler, recording works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Franz Krommer. Hoeprich collaborated extensively with notable orchestras and conductors, including The Academy of Ancient Music under Christopher Hogwood, the Orchestre des Champs-Ãlysées directed by Philippe Herreweghe, and Musica Antiqua Köln led by Reinhard Goebel. Notable releases include Mozart: Concerto pour clarinette (1988) with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century under Frans Brüggen and Beethoven: Fidelio with Nachtmusique in 2000.
