Biography
Eihwar is a French medieval neofolk duo formed in 2023 by Alice Saturne Mezzasalma (vocals, percussion) and multi-instrumentalist Antoine Aureche. The former is known for having previously been part of the folk duo Saturne & Valfeu, while the latter was a member of the Toulouse-based progressive rock band Neko Light Orchestra. Together, the duo recorded songs inspired by traditional music, with themes drawn from Nordic legends. Following the release of their albums Ragnarök (2023) and Viking War Trance (2024) on the Season of Mist label, Eihwar enjoyed even greater success with their third opus, Hugrheim (2026), ranked No. 30 on the SNEP Rock & Metal chart.
