Eddie Ahmad (1948â1993) was a cherished Malaysian singer who rose to fame during the 1960s and 1970s. Emerging during the pop yeh-yeh era influenced by The Beatles, Eddie was often accompanied by bands such as The Guys. His debut EP, featuring tracks like Aku Tetap Merindu and Aduh Sarodja, was released in 1966 under EMI/Parlophone. Throughout his career, Eddie released notable EPs and albums, including Madah Perpisahan and Kasih Yang Tak Berakhir (1971) and collaborations like Mawarku (1973) with his sister Hamidah. Popular songs such as Dara Puspita and Potret Kasihku cemented his place in the hearts of fans. His final television performance was in 1991 on Singapore's "Hiburan Minggu Ini" , where he revived Aduh Sarodja in an R&B style. Eddie passed away in Copenhagen in 1993 at 45, leaving behind a legacy of timeless hits.
