E for Explosion, an American alternative rock and shoegaze band, was formed in 2005 by Jamison Covington following the breakup of his previous group, JamisonParker. The band originated as a solo project under various names before settling on E for Explosion, inspired by Covington's admiration for science fiction writer Ray Bradbury. Their debut EP Paper Flowers was self-released in October 2007, leading to a signing with Eyeball Records and the release of their first full-length album, Reinventing the Heartbeat, on May 20, 2008.
Throughout their career, E for Explosion released several notable works including the EP Hold Grudges Not Hands in November 2010 and the album The View from Cypress Lane in October 2012. The band entered a hiatus in late 2013 but resumed activity in 2020 with the self-release of two EPs, Remember Blue Skies and Sundowner.
