Dorthia Cottrell, born on March 11, 1986, in the United States of America, is a singer known for her work with doom metal band Windhand and her solo acoustic career. Her musical journey began with Windhand, releasing their debut album Windhand in 2012. The band continued to gain traction with subsequent albums, including Soma (2013), Grief's Infernal Flower (2015), and Eternal Return (2018). Cottrell also embarked on a solo career, releasing her self-titled debut album Dorthia Cottrell in 2015. Her second solo album, Death Folk Country, was released in 2023 and was shortlisted for the third annual Newlin Music Prize in 2024. Additionally, she released the single "Price to Prey" in 2023.
