Dominic Angas, born 1974 in the United Kingdom, is a British DJ and record producer known professionally as Domâ¯&â¯Roland. Growing up in Shepherdâs Bush, London, Angas developed an early interest in hipâhop before transitioning to breakbeat and drum and bass during his twenties, a shift that led him to collaborate with Edâ¯Rush and form the duo Current Affairs. His initial breakthrough came with the 1995 single "East/Solstice" on Saigon, followed by the 1996 release "Dynamics / The Planets" under the Domâ¯&â¯Roland alias, which established his reputation within the emerging techstep scene. In 1998, he released his debut album Industry on Moving Shadow, a release that positioned him alongside contemporaries such as Optical and Robâ¯Playford. Subsequent albums Back For The Future (2002), Chronology (2004), and Through The Looking Glass (2008) continued to showcase his darker, experimental approach, while the 2009 EP No Strings Attached featured collaborations with Noisia, Amonâ¯Tobin, and Robâ¯Playford. After departing Moving Shadow, Angas founded Domâ¯&â¯Roland Productions, releasing The Big Bang (2011) and later joining Metalheadz in 2016, where he has continued to issue new material. His work has earned recognition within the drum and bass community for its technical precision and has influenced a generation of producers in the genre.
