Andre J. E. Sam-Sin, known professionally as DJ Sun, born on January 19, 1966, in Rotterdam, Netherlands, is a Dutch-born American record producer and DJ. As a child, he settled in Suriname before relocating to Texas in his early teens. He began his professional music career at age 26 in Houston, gaining recognition as a top-ranked DJ and owner and operator of the live music venue The Flat. In 1995, he started the radio show Soular Grooves on KPFT 90.1 FM. He released the EP Monday Drive in 2008, followed by the EP Para in 2009. He released his debut album One Hundred in 2013, which won Best CD by a Local Musician at the Houston Press' annual Best of Houston edition. He earned the Houston Press DJ of the Year award seven times between 1999 and 2013. He released the albums Qingxi in 2016 and Loveletter in 2022.
