Biography

The Zambonis was an American indie rock band formed in 1991. Originating from Connecticut, the group was known for writing songs exclusively about ice hockey. Their debut album, 100% Hockey...and Other Stuff, was released in 1996 and reached number 40 on the CMJ charts. In October 1999, they followed up with their second full-length album, More Songs About Hockey...and Buildings and Food. The band opened the NHL All-Star Game in 2002 alongside Jewel and Five for Fighting. Notable songs included "Hockey Monkey", which was featured in the sitcom The Loop. The Zambonis also collaborated with the NHL to compose theme songs for teams such as the Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche, and toured with the Stanley Cup while fundraising for the Cullen Children's Foundation.
