MC 2K, born Kayque Martins Rodrigues, began developing his musical career as a teenager after moving to Heliópolis, São Paulo, where he immersed himself in the local funk scene. He gained national attention in 2014 with the release of âZiguiriguidum,â a funk reinterpretation of the carnival hit âZiriguidum,â which became a viral success and marked his first major breakthrough. The trackâs popularity led to wider recognition and introduced MC 2K to new audiences in Brazil and beyond. He continued building his discography with the 2017 single âOu Tá Na Marcone Ou Tá No Helipa,â which reflected the gritty urban themes of São Pauloâs funk culture. That same year, he dropped âNa Maciota,â a song that further solidified his presence in the scene through its distinctive rhythm and raw energy. Over time, MC 2K expanded his collaborations, working with DJs and producers like Malharo, LB, and Noiskita on tracks such as âMestre Mandouâ (2018) and âCaralho Eu To Sem Camisinhaâ (2023). In 2024, he returned with âPrincesinha Louca,â a collaboration with Mano Kaue and Theus No Beat that blended melody with modern funk production. 2025 saw the release of âJoga a Xota,â showcasing a bolder, evolving sound and confirming his relevance in the current Brazilian funk landscape.
