Biography
Richard Vreeland, known professionally as Disasterpeace, is an American composer and musician who was born in 1986 in Staten Island. He began learning the guitar in high school and started producing his first tracks at age 17. Vreeland studied at the Berklee College of Music and released his first studio album, History of the Vreeland, (2004) followed by The Chronicles of Jammage the Jam Mage (2005). He is famous for a chiptune musical style and composed the scores for video games including Puzzle Agent (2010) and Fez (2012). His recordings include the studio albums Atebite and the Warring Nations (2006), Level (2008), and Rise of the Obsidian Interstellar (2011). In 2014, he created the soundtrack for the film It Follows (2014), which was his first feature film score. Vreeland also composed music for the films Under the Silver Lake (2018), Triple Frontier (2019), and Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (2022).
