Dios is a Japanese pop band formed in 2021 in Tokyo by vocalist Tanaka, guitarist Ichika Nito, and keyboardist Sasano Marii under the Amuse label. Tanaka, formerly of Bokunoririkkubouyomi, had already earned recognition in the guitar community, placing eighth in Total Guitar's âTop 100 Modern Guitarists.â The trio met during a 2019 anime cover event and quickly decided to create a band that could perform multiple roles simultaneously, drawing inspiration from the character Dio from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and the Greek god Dionysus. The bandâs debut single, "Runaway", was released on 31â¯Marchâ¯2021, followed by "Underground" in June and "Loveless" in Aprilâ¯2023. Their first fullâlength album, Castle, arrived on 29â¯Juneâ¯2022, featuring the title track "Castle" and accompanied by a tour across Osaka, Tokyo, Hokkaido, and Fukuoka. In Septemberâ¯2023 they released the second album, ï¼Sprint, which included the single "Stand Alone" (15â¯Novemberâ¯2023). Subsequent EPs, Deconstruction β (15â¯Januaryâ¯2025) and Seein' Your Ghost (29â¯Octoberâ¯2025), including the track, "dilemma", expanded their discography. Dios has maintained a presence on Japanese television, radio, and streaming platforms, with several songs charting on domestic charts and the band receiving acclaim for its immersive virtual concert space, Castle World, launched in Februaryâ¯2023.
