Eric Dorgal, known professionally as Def Bond, was born on June 6, 1969, in Longjumeau, Essonne, France. He began his music career initially as part of the Marseille-based group Soul Swing during the late 1980s, alongside DJ Rebel, DJ Majestic, DJ Ralph, Faf Larage, and K-Rhyme Le Roi. His breakthrough moment came in 1998 with the release of "Secret défense" on Sad Hill with Akhenaton and "Tu me plais", a collaboration with K-Reen featured on the soundtrack for the film Taxi. In 1999, he released the single "Old School Love" with American singer Oliver Cheatham. Def Bondâs debut album, Le Thème..., was produced by Kheops of IAM and featured collaborations with Akhenaton, Shurik'n, Freeman, and other notable artists. The album reached number 47 on the French charts and was praised for its technical quality and credibility. Def Bond's subsequent albums include Def, released in June 2003, and Love, released October 2009. Notable singles such as "12/0013" with Matt Houston reached number 9 on the French charts and number 25 in Belgium (WA).
